Students
Pleasant Park students participate with distinction in curricular and extra-curricular activities at the School and Board level. Students work with diligence towards academic excellence meeting or surpassing Ministry expectations. Our Athletic Teams are coached throughout the school year focusing on skills and sportsmanship. Pleasant Park children participate with enthusiasm in Arts activities. Winter and Spring concerts allow children opportunities to showcase their talents. Our Grade Five and Six students perform a musical presentation. Pleasant Park Junior students take pride in setting an excellent example for our primary children. Our Student Parliament plan events for the entire school and read our morning announcements. Junior students participate in the school community as Volunteer Leaders working with Kindergarten and Primary students, as library assistants and in other initiatives they may wish to explore. Pleasant Park students are recognized for their achievements and their contributions on a regular basis, in our classrooms, school announcements, updates and end of the year awards ceremonies.
Staff
Pleasant Park staff members have a wealth of professional qualifications including Bachelors, Specialists and Masters degrees. Staff members hold many additional qualifications in specific areas such Special Education, Math, Reading, FSL ESL etc. Staff members have participated in numerous Board-wide professional development activities. The wide range of expertise allows us to excel in all areas of the learning community, the curriculum and to offer our students skilled instruction in extracurricular activities. Our staff is committed to providing an Inclusive, Safe and Caring environment developing Character Education , conflict resolution and anti-bullying initiatives. Staff leadership is recognized and appreciated by our students, parents, and school administration.
Parents/Guardians/Volunteers/Community
Parent and Community Volunteers are an invaluable resource for the children at Pleasant Park supporting every aspect of our program. Our dedicated Parent School Council meets monthly sharing input on school issues. Parent Council contributes significant funds in support of our Arts & Sports Programs, Field Trips, Technology and Classrooms. Community volunteers also participate as readers to support daily reading in our primary classes. We thank our parents and volunteers on an on-going basis, and look for opportunities to acknowledge them in our updates and at our Volunteer Tea.
Pleasant Park has received support from a number of community businesses. We recognize our community partners through school announcements, updates and website.
